With experience in all aspects of digital image technology - including hands on creative post-production operation, production supervision & support, and equipment development & manufacture - Steve Shaw, founder of Digital Praxis, provides both manufacturers and creative end users direct assistance in the development and application of digital technology within the digital imaging market.
With a specialised focus on high-end digital film and digital video technology, from Digital Cinematography through Digital Intermediate (DI) and digital VFX to digital projection and D-Cinema, Steve's knowledge and experience enables client companies to maximise their involvement in the digital film and video imaging marketplace.
Although Digital Praxis is in reality a one man operation - Steve Shaw, as many will be aware - Steve has a range of people and skills available to provide additional support, as well as production & post-production companies and equipment at his disposal.
This includes being able to provide services ranging from on-set film and digital supervision (including access to RED, Thomson Viper, Sony F900 and Panasonic VariCam digital cinematography cameras), through post-production supervision and creative post-production operation (via agreements with select post-production houses) including colourist and VFX operation, to guaranteed deliverable generation from film to video.
A notable success for Digital Praxis was the placement of Walter Volpatto into FotoKem LA, initially as an operator to assist Steve as colourist during FotoKem's first major DI project, but such was Walter's success that he has remained at FotoKem as their chief DI colourist/operator. Walter was fully trained by Steve/Digital Praxis on iQ Pablo as a colourist/operator.
The development of Axis Post is the most recent business venture for Digital Praxis, and provides a full DI operation within Shepperton Studios, London, UK, based around a Pablo DI system with a fully calibrated digital projection grading room.
